West Suburban Collaborative Practice Group – June 4th Recap with Article

Attorneys Margaret Bennett and Darcy Chamberlain presented together to the West Suburban Collaborative Practice Group on June 4th on Serving the Best Interests of a Child With Significant Developmental Delays. Ms. Bennett discussed Section 513.5 of the Illinois Marriage and Dissolution of Marriage Act which provides support for non-minor disabled children. How to best draft an Allocation Judgement and Marital Settlement Agreement to preserve and protect the disabled child in divorce proceedings. Ms.Chamberlain discussed establishing special needs trusts and the guardianship process for the disabled child.

West Surburban Collaborative Law Practice Group – June 4th 2020

Bennett Law Firm is pleased to announce that Margaret Bennett will be a featured speaker at the West Suburban Collaborative Law Practice Group on June 4th. Ms. Bennett, a fellow of the Collaborative Law Institute of Illinois,  will be presenting on her recently published article in the Illinois State Bar Association Family Law Newsletter about representing parents of children with special needs.  Fellow Attorney Darci Chamberlain will add to this discussion regarding her experience with creating Trusts for this special population.
